I Survived!
The first class of teaching a college course is history.
I am teaching an undergraduate course at Harding for the College of Education on Monday afternoons from 4-6:30. It is called, "Family, School & Community: A Cultural Perspective".The class consisted of 23 education majors who were all girls. The discussion went smoothly and I didn't feel too nervous. Now, I've got to spend the rest of the week preparing for the next two chapters. Hopefully I'll get to teach this course again in the spring after I've invested so much time in studying the material.
All in all...a good first experience.
You might wonder what the kiddos were doing...Jim is in completely in charge on Monday afternoons. I don't think he had it too bad today since when I left both kids were asleep and Grant slept until 5:45. Why is it that when I'm not home Grant takes these huge long power naps???

I'm sooo glad it went well! I hope you really enjoy your time on Monday afternoons as something different from your typical routine. I think it's just perfect that Jim is able to keep the kids on Monday afternoons while you teach.
Sorry Mackenzie still has not called Laura back yet...it will happen...in her own time, of course! :)
I'm so glad your first class is under your belt and it went well. Man, it doesn't seem like it was 15 years ago when we were undergrad education students. CRAZY!
I'm so glad you are getting to teach that class. That is just great! I wish I had a job I could go to for a couple hours a week. I need to ponder this...
Wow, Sara...teaching a college course?!! That's great! I'm so excited that an opportunity like that presented itself and you went for it. I hope this semester goes really well for you. I can't wait to hear all about it.
Glad it went well. Hope the butterflies weren't too bad! Incidentally, how did you get into this teaching gig?
I knew you'd do great on your first day. You have some very good experience in the field - both as a parent and as a former special education teacher who dealt with unique families.
You have a lot to offer those 23 education majors! Go get 'em!
Wow! Way to go! I would love to be in your class. I hope it goes great for you. I can't believe we are old enough to be teaching college classes. Keep us posted on your class!
Impressive. I know you did great and will continue to do great!
Glad things went well for you. I am sure you will do a great job teaching. And what a nice break for some "adult" time. That was what I was looking forward to about gymboree (and the 40% discount too). I am not sure if I am still going to do that 2 mornings a week, we shall see. BTW I love the new blog! Did you get it "custom" done? If so direct me in the designers way :)
I am proud of you Professor Miller!
Well done in your class!! I bet you are a great teacher. Tell Grant, Laura and Jim hi for us!
What a great opportunity! I can't wait to hear more!
I agree with Holly on your new layout. I can't seem to navigate that website. I have seen lots of cute backgrounds from cutest blog on the block. Any tips on how to get one for myself?
