Any tips?

Jim and I are going on a cruise in 21 days aboard Carnival's Ecstasy to Cozumel. I'm looking forward to a relaxing vacation with Jim with no set agenda, no school deadlines, and no responsibilities!

Since this is our first time to go on a cruise, I'm looking for tips from any fellow cruisers on packing, clothes, etc.

swimsuit!!!!! and a good cover-up. don't worry about storage space, there is a ton in those little cabins! i would pack a few dresses that you feel pretty in too. oh, and money. you might need that. have fun! i'm jealous.

David and I went with his family, Josie was 18 months old! I highly recommend going without children. Josie could not even swim because she was not potty trained yet!!
Enjoy! It will be great!

I have never been on a cruise. But everyone I know that has been on one has gotten sick. So my recommendation is meds. Sorry for the downer here but you may want to have some just in case! Hope you guys have fun! I must say I am jealous of the time you guys are getting away - kid free!!

We went on a four-day cruise when I was at HUG. My advice:

If you're prone to get seasick, take something to calm your stomach.

If you're *not* prone to get seasick...you'll probably get seasick the first day anyhow! I'd've thought I had a strong stomach, but I barfed the first evening. So either way, take something to calm your stomach; better to have it and not need it...

Take a book or two to read.

Be sure to go out and see the stars at night.

Don't pose nude for any guy claiming to be an artist, because I saw a movie where a girl did that on a ship and afterwards the ship sank.

Hilarious, Ryan. I laughed a good bit on that remark.

I am definitely prone to getting motion sickness. Yikes!

Hey Sara...
We went on a cruise almost 10 years ago for our honeymoon...yikes, it seems like just yesterday! Aaron gets seasick really easy and he did fine on our Carnival cruise...the boats are so big you don't feel hardly anything, but take some motion sickness pills just in case, they cost a fortune on the boat! Take extra cash...you have (well, not HAVE to, but it is suggested) that you tip a lot of people that help you...your head waiter, the little guy that you never see but he makes up your bed and leaves you cute little characters made out of towels and other people like that...the ATM on board the ship charges pretty big fees (or it did when we went) to use it. The shopping is fun in Mexico and the beaches are fun too. Take a few formals, Aaron has a tux so he took that, too. They had 2 formal nights on our cruise and that was really fun to get all dressed up on....if I think of anything else, I'll let you know!!
Have a blast and don't forget your sunscreen!!!
