A Full Week

We are one day away from our baby entering our lives. We are excited and anxious all at the same time. I am sure Jim will update his blog sometime on Monday to share our news. My parents are coming in tonight, and Jim's folks come in tomorrow. It is here!!

This week Laura and I made bird's nest cookies. It is a cute Easter cookie and quite tasty. I had forgotten that Laura doesn't really like to have messy hands, so I pretty much shaped the cookies and she added the M & M's. And then she didn't really even like them. She is extremely particular about her sweets! Regardless, it was fun.

Among all of our last-minute preparations for the baby's arrival, we've been in the midst of showing our house to a potential buyer. They came back this morning for a second look and decided to make an offer tomorrow. And yes, we do go into the hospital on Monday morning for a c-section.

The last thing we expected the week before my delivery was to be selling our house. A tip came from April about a couple looking to buy in our neighborhood, so we hopped on it even though we haven't put our house on the market yet. It would be a HUGE blessing if it all worked out now, and if we didn't have to stress about selling the house after the baby is born. We probably still won't move until June, and this actually will work out fine with the potential buyer. At this point, we just have to wait and see what happens.

We ask for your prayers as we welcome baby boy or girl on Monday morning. Specifically, we're praying that the c-section will go smoothly, the baby is healthy, and our transition is easy.

Guess I'm in Trouble....

None of these foods in this article are even remotely appetizing to me.

I remember when Jim and I were in Australia several summers ago, they put beets on their hamburgers. EWW.....

Years and years ago at a rapid attempt to lose weight, I ate cabbage soup. That was the last time cabbage was a part of my diet.

I've never even heard of swiss chard?????

I think I'll stick with my daily intake of apples, bananas, and usually something chocolate!

Top Five Favorite Items

There are just some products/items that just make my life easier.

My top five favorite items are: (not in order of importance)

1. It's a Ten Miracle Leave In Product-I'm not really a big conditioner type of girl and this product eases the frizz control especially if you use hair dryers or straighteners everyday. It also smells goods!

2. South Beach Protein Bars-I like most of the flavors and since it is high in fiber, it really sticks with you. I eat one everyday as a mid-morning snack.

3. Bed Head After Party-It tames those fly aways after you blow dry your hair.

4. Weigel's Milk-This is a Tennessee convenience/gas store, however, they have some good milk. It seemed like we were going through milk fast in our house (mainly because of me since Laura is not a big milk drinker), so we would just go down the street to our local Weigel's for milk. I'm glad we did..it beats Wal-mart or Kroger milk any day!!

5. Bounty Select A Size Paper Towels-You can use a big sheet or a little sheet. They are also perfect for a quick napkin. However, I'm a southern girl and still use nice sturdy napkins at dinner.

Share some of your favorite products.

Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained

Jim took me to eat sushi last night.

It was our monthly date night, and I was looking forward to a new dining experience. He had recently eaten sushi with his sister at Wasabi and just raved about the taste.

So, I was ready to give it a try.

It was disgusting. It tasted like cold fish wrapped in seaweed. Needless to say, I had to order something else - which was cooked and hot.

Have you tried sushi? Do you like it?

Can't Help Myself

Girl Scout cookies have arrived,
Just in time to add to my thighs.

I love them all!
Oh, yes, I do.
I can't just stop with one or two.

They taste so good; chocolatey sweet,
Delicious, delightful, yummy treat.

What about you?
Do you like them too?
