Girl Weekend

My "Girl Weekend" started with Girl's Night Out Friday night at Amerigo's restaurant. I have to say that our conversations were very funny that night and most enjoyable. I love all of my friends.

Laura and I had a fun time Saturday while Jim was out of town. She was a good sport about being home most of the day, which was due to my slow-moving body! That evening we put on our P.J.'s — or rather, left the house in what we had been wearing all day — to make a trip to Bruster's Ice Cream stand. A couple times a year they offer free ice cream if you wear your pajamas.

Jim got home safely last night, and Laura was thrilled to see that Daddy was home and even more excited to receive a gift he picked up for her.

Unfortunately, our fun ended at about 3 a.m. with a sick girl throwing up. I'm not too sure what is going on with her, as she hasn't thrown up since this morning. She has had fever all day and has been complaining about the ear that got cleaned out last week.

I was glad to have some one-on-one time with Laura this weekend and am hoping that all the sickies will go far away from our house!

Arrival of six pints of Graeter's ice cream as a Christmas gift from Jim's sister, Jeanne: Friday, Jan. 6

Flavors included: Chocolate, strawberry, coffee, cookie dough chip, mint cookies & cream, Buckeye blitz

Pints remaining as of 9:20 tonight: 2 1/2

If you know Jim and me, you know we love ice cream; this was a great gift. Thanks, Jeanne, for the treat - and calories!

Ice cream heals

If anyone knows me well, they know that around 9:00 every night during the summer, I'm going to eat a bowl of ice cream.

My favorite right now is Healthy Choice Chocolate Mint. I also enjoy the Breyers Peanut Butter Tracks with Splenda. There is something about eating ice cream at night that heals the trials of the day. With Jim being laid up for the past few days, it has been a one-man show at our house entertaining Laura, as well as everything else that has to be done to keep things going. With all of that said, my 9:00 meeting with chocolate mint has arrived.

It's a beautiful time of the day.
