Evenings

I am so thankful for the quiet at night time.

Lately our days have been just so exhausting. It isn't because we are trying to cram multiple activities into one day. It is our active 3-year-old who demands a lot of attention, and who has just about given up naps. (Sigh.)

We are down to about one or two a week; however, a daily hour of rest is required and necessary for our little lady.

So, at night, I think of how tired I am and that tomorrow will most likely be just as tiring. However, the evenings of quiet and a good night's sleep make me ready and happy to start a new day with Laura.

How do you relax at night?

I put the kids to bed at 8:30 p.m. and Kent and I watch a t.v. show at 9. That helps me wind down, space out, and get ready for bed.

I love our night times together...the girls go to bed at 7:30 and Parker goes to bed at 8 (I know, but he gets a 3 hour nap during the day)....We watch a show or two together on the couch and then retire the the bedroom.

Ah, nights are the best! Nora is usually in bed by 8:15 and Matthew and I get to spend the rest of the evening together (mostly just watching TV). Nights are about to take on a whole new meaning for us though :). When Nora was an infant, I would get a little panicked when the sun would go down...I knew the nights seemed so much longer than the days. Hopefully in about a year, I will be able to enjoy my evening again :).
